Topic #5: Formulas and Calculations

Cards (7)

  • This formula is used for the Accuracy of the Analytical balance
    • Percent Error
  • We use these formulas for know what?
    Repeatability
  • We use this formula to find what?
    Drift Value
  • To compute for the Percent Error, what is the formula?
To find this, you subtract the observed mass from the standard mass, then divide the result by the standard mass. Finally, you multiply the outcome by 100 to express it as a percentage.
  • What is the formula for coefficient of variation?

Standard deviation divided by mean then multiply by 100 to express it as percentage.
  • What is the formula for standard deviation?
    To calculate the standard deviation:
    1. Find the mean (average) of the data set.
    2. Subtract the mean from each data point and square the result.
    3. Calculate the average of these squared differences.
    4. Take the square root of that average to get the standard deviation.
  • Drift Value formula is?
    Maximum value - minimum value
