Circulatory system

• Circulatory system - (cardiovascular) life support structure the nourishes your cell with nutrients from the food you eat and oxygen from the air you breath. Community of cells sustains the body to stay alive
• Heart - pumps blood throughout the body
• Blood vessels - Carries blood throughout the body
• Arteries - carry oxygenated blood away from the heart to the cells of the body
• Veins - carry oxygenated blood to the heart
• Capillaries - smallest blood vessels that connect arteries and veins. Site where gasses exchange
• Blood - The fluid that carries nutrients, oxygen, and waste products around the body.

• Oxygenated - high level in oxygen
• Deoxygenated - blood that has not been oxygenated by the lungs and is returning to the heart, rich in carbon dioxide
