Interdependence

Cards (6)

  • Predator prey cycles:
There are always more prey then predators. the number of predators will increase when there are more prey, as there is more food for them to eat. However ,the number of prey will then reduce because there is more predators eating them. The number of predator then reduces because there is less prey are more competition therefore there is less food. With less predators numbers of prey increases again and the cycle starts again.
  • In predator prey cycle the peaks and troughs will be different as other factors may affect the population size. there is always a time lag before the change of one population affects the other population.
  • Mutualism is a biological interaction between two or more species where each species benefits in some way, and neither species is harmed
  • In biology, parasitism is a relationship between two organisms where one organism, the parasite, benefits at the expense of the other, the host
  • A symbiotic relationship can be mutualistic or parasitic.
  • Symbiosis is any type of long term interactions between different biological species that live together
